Tieton Arts & Humanities is a nonprofit corporation with the mission of sponsoring arts and humanities events at Mighty Tieton, for the benefit of the residents of Yakima County and the Pacific Northwest. We love projects that foster community, and unite artists from East and West of the Cascades. If you want more information or are interested in volunteering, please contact us!

LitFuse 2008

The second annual version of TAH’s premier literary event – LitFuse – is scheduled for Friday, October 31 (yes! Halloween!) to Sunday, November 2, 2008. This year LitFuse is honored to welcome Lorna Dee Cervantes as our featured artist. Author of Drive: the First Quartet (2006); From the Cables of Genocide: Poems of Love and Hunger (1991); and the American Book Award winning Emplumada (1981), Ms. Cervantes is not only a major Chicana voice, but a voice for all humanity.

Tieton Arts & Humanities welcomes your tax-deductible contribution, either made online, or mailed to TAH at PO Box 181, Tieton, WA 98947.  With your help, TAH can expand its programs to benefit the Yakima Valley and all of the Pacific Northwest, by providing fun and challenging programs to schoolchildren and adults; bringing teachers, speakers and artists of regional and national renown to Tieton; and inspiring new creative collaborations that will enrich the lives and communities of the many participants in our programs.

Tieton Arts & Humanities warmly appreciates giving at all levels, appropriate to the abilities and priorities of each donor.  Our Board has established the following levels for recognition of giving:

Founder's Grants (through end of 2009 only) $5,000 or more
Event Sponsor $1,500 or more
Director's Circle $1,000 or more
Benefactors $500 - $999
Patrons $250 - $499
Artisans $100 - $249
Friends $51  -  $99
Donors up to $50

Tieton Arts & Humanities is a 501(c)(3) pending nonprofit organization.  Contributions made now are tax-deductible.

Upcoming Events

ART IN THE PARK FOR KIDS!  This summer, Tieton Arts & Humanities joins with Allied Arts of Yakima and Highland Rotary to present art in the Tieton town square for kids every Monday from 10am-noon, and Thursday from 1-3 pm, beginning June 30th, until August 7th.  The classes will be taught by an art teacher and supplies are furnished.  Volunteers to help out are welcome; if you wish to volunteer, please call Karen at 206-384-3292.
