Moku Hanga is a type of traditional Japanese woodblock printing. In honor of the 3rd Annual Kyoto International Woodprint Association (KIWA) exhibition in Kyoto and the 1st annual Moku Hanga conference, the Drachen Foundation invited artists from around the world to submit woodblock prints. Selected prints were set on spars and transformed into a collection of kites. Each kite reflects the sensibility of the printmaker, on the frame of a traditional Japanese kite.

The collection was displayed for KIWA and the Moku Hanga conference, then traveled to Seattle's Beth Cullom Gallery and to Mighty Tieton.

Moku Hanga kites are on display in the Mighty Tieton Warehouse through February 5, 2012. Call Ryan at 509-847-3034 for an appointment to see them before they move on!
