Handmade Papermaking Workshop

Tieton Made welcomes Esteban Silva and Mick Heltsey on Saturday, June 15, to make beautifully textured and colored paper with the most basic materials. Learn about how Esteban’s business “De Lirio” is making a difference to the health of Lake Patzcuaro in Michoacan, Mexico by repurposing water hyacinth, an invasive and destructive waterlily.

10 until 3pm, with a lunch break. Space is limited to 15, and advance tickets are required. $20 per person. Materials will be furnished, but bring a bring a sack lunch or order to go at one of the local restaurants. Tickets available for purchase at Eventbrite.

Tieton Made is a new retail store in Tieton, Washington, featuring handmade paper goods, handmade furniture, lighting fixtures, books, mosaics, and vintage objects. It will also offer a selection of local wines, beers, and ciders, and Tieton Farm & Creamery cheeses. In the same space, Nomad Mercantile offers recreational clothing and gear, picnic and camping supplies, maps, guidebooks, and games. Both enterprises offer workshops, demonstrations, and experiences to take advantage of the many creative and recreational opportunities in Central Washington.
